Lakers Take Suns and Rockets for 4-1 Record Under Bernie B!

After defeating the Suns 114-102 and the Rockets 119-108, Bickerstaff’s Lakers have a 4-1 season record, finally passing .500. And, with D’Antoni expected to coach his first game Tuesday against the Brooklyn Nets, the Lakers are showing a faster game with stronger offense, defense and fast breaks. By the first quarter of the match against Phoenix, Gasol was 3 for 3 with his 3 pointers and 5 for 5 overall. With Bryant scoring 14 points (31 points, 2 rebounds, 6 assists and 1 steal overall) it was 62-57 Lakers at the half, and 114-102 at the end of the game. Other top scorers were Metta World Peace with 22 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals, and 1 block and Dwight Howard with 18 points, 12 rebounds, 1 steal and 4 blocks.

By the end of the first quarter against the Rockets, the Lakers were already up 40 points…and did you see that crosscourt field goal pass from MWP to Gasol to dunk into the basket in the last 2 seconds? The 119-108 win was cemented in the 3rd closed out by the Lakers 98-87. And Kobe Bryant had his eighteenth triple double with 22 points, 11 rebounds, 11 assists and 3 steals. Other top scorers were Dwight Howard with 28 points, 11 rebounds, 1 steal and 1 assist, and Pau Gasol with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists.
